The Department of Medicinal Chemistry conducts research and teaching in four different main areas. The focus of our interdisciplinary Department lies on drug discovery, analysis of biological samples, pharmacognosy, and molecular imaging. Researcher focused on metabolomics at the Department of Medicinal Chemistry (DMC) with a primary placement at the Division of Analytical Pharmaceutical Chemistry (APC), BMC, Uppsala.
Providing expert support for research projects aimed at the development of new methods for metabolite profiling, with a special focus on separation, detection and data analysis, and thus be part of the research conducted at APC in the area of metabolomics.
Being a metabolite profiling expert in research projects focused on the application of metabolite profiling methods for hypothesis generation. The work includes the development of new, and/or implementation of known methods from the literature for application on specific studies.
To mentor undergraduate students.
The position includes part-time responsibility for maintenance of equipment and instruments at APC and DMC.
PhD in the field of analytical chemistry or related areas. Experience of working with biological samples; and at least two of the subareas chromatography, mass spectrometry, data processing and multivariate statistics.
Desirably / meritorious
Postdoctoral experience or equivalent is desirable. Research qualifications and teaching experience (lectures, seminars and supervision of laboratory work) in analytical chemistry research or related areas is an advantage.
