Postdoctoral researcher position – Surface functionalization for selective ion detection at the Division of Solid State Electronics, Department of Engineering Sciences, The Angstrom Laboratory.
The researcher position is for one year starting as soon as possible. The position is extendable for a second year.
Background: The research at the Division of Solid State Electronics is focused in two main areas: Electronics for Sustainable Energy and Electronics for Smart Life. Specific research fields include solar cells, flexible electronics, sensors, energy-efficient RF-devices, biomedical microwave technology and thin film technologies. One of the sensor research directions concerns exploration of new silicon nanowire-based electronic sensor for detecting ions and charge molecules including DNA/RNA strands at extremely low concentrations. The research will be conducted in close collaboration with scientists and engineers in physics, surface chemistry and biochemistry.
Work description: We are now looking for a suitable candidate to strengthen our research on the surface functionalization of solid state devices for specific ion and bio-molecule detection in electrolytes.
Qualifications required: PhD in materials science, chemistry, bio-chemistry or electronic engineering and experience with biosensor design and fabrication. Good oral and written proficiency in English is required. Constructive and collaborative attitude is a must. Previous experience in electrochemistry measurements will be advantageous.
The application should include:
- Cover letter with a brief description of previous research, research interests, and qualifications.
- CV and list of publications.
- Copy of degree diploma, other official academic transcripts.
