We are looking for a highly motivated post-doctoral fellow in proteomics, for a two-year position at the Department of Medical Biochemistry and Microbiology, Uppsala University in Prof. Leif Andersson's research group (http://www.imbim.uu.se/Research/+Genomics/Andersson_Leif/?languageId=1).
Research project: This post-doctoral fellow will primarily work on the functional characterization of the novel ZBED6 transcription factor gene and the closely associated ZC3H11A gene on human chromosome 1 (see PLoS Biology PMID: 20016685)
Duties: Sample preparation for mass spectrometry-based quantitative proteomics analyses (SILAC, TMT and label-free) and bioinformatic analyses of mass spectrometric data. Some teaching may be included.
Qualifications: The successful candidate will hold a PhD in proteomics or a related area. Experience in handling mass spectrometry samples (SILAC, TMT and/or label-free approaches) and competence in proteomic bioinformatics is an absolute requirement. Knowledge in handling of a Thermo Orbitrap Fusion Tribrid mass spectrometer is a merit.
