Fees for current students
Payment of tuition fees
Tuition fees are paid one semester at a time and must be received one month before the start of semester. You will receive an invoice to your student email account before payment must be made. Payment of the tuition fee is be made by bank transfer or credit card. See detailed information about payment of tuition fees and reimbursement.
Current students who fail to pay the stipulated tuition fee will be put on academic suspension.
Change in study plan
Every Bachelor's and Master's programme has a study plan. As a fee-paying student at Uppsala University you have to follow this study plan. If you for some reason need to make a change in your study plan, it is important that you contact your programme coordinator and inform the tuition fee coordinator.
Reduction of tuition fee
If you have earned credits from previous studies (not including your Bachelor's degree) it is sometimes possible to have your tuition fee reduced. A decision regarding transfer of credits must be made prior to the tuition fee payment for a reduction to be possible.
If you wish to transfer credits from prior studies, please contact the tuition fee coordinator by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
If your programme contains studies abroad or you wish to take part in an exchange programme during your time at Uppsala University, you are still required to pay tuition for the period of time concerned.
All students have the right to apply for leave of studies. For more information, please contact your programme coordinator. You are not required to pay tuition (unless you enrol in freestanding courses) during your leave.
