Public Health
The objective of Public health is to study the health of the population, especially changes in the health, variation in health between different population groups, factors that influences population's health and how the health situation may be improved. Public health includes studies of the importance of life circumstances as well as behavioural, environmental, societal and health system-related factors on the health of the population.
Knowledge and competences in Public health are a basis for health promotion, prevention of diseases and injuries as well as for evaluations of programmes and interventions aiming at improving the health of the population.
