General provisions
The contents and length of the education are regulated by ordinance 2008:1101 in The Swedish Code of Statutes.
The course is given during the third semester of the conformity education for biomedical scientists and consists of an individual assignment intended to give advanced and broadened theoretical and practical knowledge and experience in biomedical laboratory science. Furthermore, skills in scientific oral and written presentation are examined. The students should also obtain an advanced critical attitude towards scientific precentations.
Entry requirements
For admission to degree project, passed courses of at least 60 credits in the conformity education is required. The placement course, code 3KK018, should be the completed and the practical part passed.

The individual student should on completion of the course be able to
- with some support in writing present an academic study

The individual student should on completion of the course be able to
- evaluate the test or tests that have been used in the study from an ethical perspective in that current rules and regulations are applied
- treat colleagues from an ethical diversity and equality perspective and show a mature management of conflicts that could arise at a place of work
Content
The degree project is connected to the specialization of the education in that theoretical and methodological knowledge from previously completed courses can be applied, broadened and deepened. Oral and written scientific reporting. Review of the thesis’s of fellow students and oral presentations. Plagiarism and cheating.
Instruction
The learning takes place as the student’s individual work under supervision, where the activities are connected to the specialization of the education. Lectures as well as student reports.
Assessment
The degree project should be presented as an individual thesis written in Swedish or English according to instructions from a scientific magazine. The degree project is also presented and defended orally. If no oral or written presentation is given within the established time frame, this counts as an examination occasion.
Plagiarism and cheating are examined as seminars. For the grade Pass, good participation in seminars or passed written presentation is required.
Student should have the right to undergo renewed work once. Exemption for additional occasions can be granted by the programme committee if special circumstances apply.
