Entry requirements

Analog electronics.

Learning outcomes

After a successful completion the student should be able to:

  • use binary arithmetic,
  • design a combinatorial logic circuit that solves binary logical tasks,
  • design a sequential circuit that solves binary logical tasks,
  • describe the structure of a logic gate,
  • explain the principles of programmable circuits,
  • explain the principles of analog-to-digital (AD) - and digital-to-analog (DA) conversion,
  • design synchronous networks with sequential flow charts,
  • design sequential circuits for programmable logic device (PLD) circuits,
  • program a microcomputer and describe the code with logic.

Content

Number systems and codes, logic gates, Boolean algebra, combinational circuits, memory elements, sequential circuits, structure of logic elements structure on a transistor level, programmable logic, a microcomputer, AD and DA conversion.

Instruction

Lectures, laboratory excercises, supervision and seminars.

Assessment
