Entry requirements
A Bachelor's degree in engineering, science or social science. Also required is 45 credits at Master's level in wind power project management. Proficiency in English equivalent to the Swedish upper secondary course English 6.
Learning outcomes
After having completed this course students will be able to:
- perform detailed analysis of income, costs and financing for the entire life cycle of onshore and offshore wind energy projects
- calculate key performance indicators to analyze the profitability as well as the debt coverage ratio of a wind power project
- describe the contracts as well as financial documents that are needed for the construction and operation of a wind power project
- negotiate favorable project contracts from an investor's as well as from a project developer's perspectives
Content
The course will describe how to develop a cost and a financing framework for onshore and offshore wind projects. . Key performance indicators for the profitability of wind power projects are calculated to enable an investment decision. Technical and financial contracts needed for the development and operation of wind power projects will be identified and discussed in detail. Practical exercises and group work with contracts from realized wind power projects enable a deeper understanding of the wind power project life cycle.

Lectures, seminars, groupwork.
Assessment
Written hand-in assignments and active participation in seminars 3 credits.
Written and oral presentation of project work 2 credits.
If there are special reasons for doing so, an examiner may make an exception from the method of assessment indicated and allow a student to be assessed by another method. An example of special reasons might be a certificate regarding special pedagogical support from the disability coordinator of the university.
