Welcome new students!

Congratulations on your admission to Uppsala University.

Your studies at one of the world’s leading universities are about to begin, and we hope you are very excited. We implore you to take full advantage of the student life that Uppsala has to offer, both academically and socially. Before all the excitement can begin, there are a few important steps that need to be completed first ...

We have Arrival Days where we will meet you at either Arlanda airport or Visby Ferry terminal and guide you to our Welcome Centres.

If possible, try to arrive during these days:

Arrival days in Uppsala, Wednesday 21 and Thursday 22 August.

Arrival days in Visby, Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29 August.

If you are a new student, you need to activate your student account. You can activate your account a few days after receiving your final admission decision. We strongly encourage you to activate your account before arriving in Sweden.

Activate your account

After you have activated your student account, the second step is to register for your course. This will need to be done before the last day of registration as you may lose your place on the course or programme. Please note this can vary depending on the programme.

Register for your course

On the Arrival Days you will be able to collect your keys to your accommodation, a welcome pack, get your temporary student ID and meet and greet fellow students and members of staff.

There are organised info sessions planned for the following week and guided tours of areas surrounding Uppsala and Visby. For more information, click on the welcome programmes below.
