See the university’s art collections

Uppsala University’s art collections contain around 7,000 objects. You can see many of the objects at the University’s various locations. For example, the University Main Building exhibits a large part of the extensive portrait collection.
Exhibits at Carolina Rediviva
At Carolina Rediviva, the main building of the University Library, you can see the famous Silver Bible, a Babylonian wedge script from the 500s BC and other interesting items. You can also view items from the permanent exhibition online.

Listen to or play in the university’s symphony orchestra

Uppsala University has its own symphony orchestra since 1627 called the Royal Academic Orchestra. The orchestra consists mainly of students and staff at the university. You can hear the orchestra on its home stage in the Uppsala University Grand Auditorium. If you want to play in the orchestra, you are welcome to apply at the beginning of each autumn term.
