Selection: Higher education credits in science and engineering (maximum 240 credits)

Entry Requirements: 30 credits (equivalent to half a year of full-time studies) from a Bachelor's programme in biotechnology, biological science or chemistry, including at least one course in chemistry, molecular biology or microbiology.

Please note: Since the course is aimed primarily at students outside Sweden, we offer a service package that includes accommodation, food and social activities. This package costs 13 500 SEK. For fee-paying students, this cost is not included in the tuition fee.

About the course:

This is a course for students that have previous knowledge in molecular biology and chemistry and would like training in experimental molecular biology in an international environment. The course is focused on some of the basic tools used in synthetic biology and both predesigned experiments and smaller research projects will be performed. Lectures include introduction to synthetic biology, biosafety, bioethics and presentation techniques. The students will also practice generic skills such as design, performance and analysis of experiments, problem solving and communication of scientific results.
