About the course

Bioprocess, the production of "biologics", molecules of biological origin, is a rapidly growing field of industrial biotechnology and its complex processes require special knowledge and skills. In this course, you will participate in a bioprocess experiment performed at Testa Center in Uppsala, including the growth and harvest of cells in an industrial setting with state-of-the-art instrumentation at Testa Center. You will participate in the planning, execution and analysis of the results from a bioreactor culture and harvest of a biologic.

The experimental part is carried through 7-11 April 2025 at the Testa Center in Uppsala in collaboration with Cytiva. The course consists of experimental work (1 credit), and Experiment preparation and evaluation seminars (1 credit).

This course can be studied separately or together with any of the following courses: Experimental Industrial Bioprocess I: Design, 3 credits, Experimental Industrial Bioprocess III: Analysis and Evaluation of Results, 2 credits.
