Short presentation

This text is not available in English, therefore the Swedish version is shown.

I conduct research focusing on the use of microbiota as a proxy for how individual insects move in nature, in particular malaria mosquitoes. I also conduct research on viruses in silkmoths.

I coordinate the Swedish part of the bilateral research collaborations between Sida and universities in Ethiopia and Tanzania.

At my position at the Uppsala University library, I educate researchers in how to contribute to Wikipedia as a part of their Science outreach.

Research

My research focuses on the use of microbiota as a proxy for how insects move in nature. We have developed methods that allow us to in great detail understand which environments that insects have visited and thereby we can identify those individuals coming from the same type of locations.

I also conduct research on viruses in silkmoths with collaborators in China, India and Thailand.

My publication list contains examples of the research I conduct. For a comprehensive list, please check Olle Terenius (0000-0002-9909-1859) - ORCID
