Max McLoughlin

Short presentation

I am a PhD student in practical philosophy at Uppsala University and a member of the Norms and Normativity Research School.

My research concerns ‘self-effacing’ ethical theories, that is, theories which say that we should not be motivated by the considerations which justify our actions. I am supervised by Prof. Folke Tersman, Prof. Andrew Reisner, and Prof. Krister Bykvist at Stockholm University.

Biography

Prior to Sweden, I studied in the UK. I hold a BPhil in philosophy from the University of Oxford (distinction) and a BA in philosophy and politics from the University of Leeds (first class honours).
