Pharmacognosy

Pharmacognosy, or the "study of the origins of medicines," is one of the core subjects in pharmacy and is inherently interdisciplinary. It encompasses the chemistry of natural products, organism and evolutionary biology, biotechnology, and intellectual history. Due to its interdisciplinary nature, pharmacognosy opens up many interesting, complex, and integrated questions.

Within the pharmaceutical programs, students can conduct advanced projects within the Research Group for Pharmacognosy. These projects are typically laboratory-based and offer opportunities for studies abroad through collaborations within our international networks.

Feel free to contact us for more information about courses and projects in pharmacognosy!

The research activities at the department include Molecular Pharmacognosy, Peptides - Chemical Biology, and Marine Invertebrate Natural Products.
