About the course

Practical Philosophy C consists of three sub-courses: two elective courses of 7.5 credits each and an essay writing course (a degree thesis for a Bachelor's degree) of 15 credits.

The elective courses vary from semester to semester. Courses which have been offered previously include Egalitarianism, The Philosophy of Death, Normativity: Theoretical and Practical, Writing and Doing Philosophy, Recent Work on Disagreement, and Population Ethics. See upcoming elective courses.

The essay course further improves your ability to write academic texts as well as your ability to develop and express a philosophical argumentation with a high level of precision, stringency and clarity.

Note: Exchange students whose home universities do not accept essays at this level may replace the essay/thesis course with two additional elective courses (see the page Upcoming elective courses for courses available). However, with this option the exchange student will not qualify for a Swedish Bachelor's degree with Practical Philosophy as the main field of study.
