About the course
During the Early Modern time, European towns changed in many ways. This course provides a broad perspective on these changes. Towns and urban life are analysed from various scientific angles such as urban history and urban archaeology. Importance is placed on gender and class perspectives and various aspects of the Early Modern town are studied, for example buildings, space, social relations, and cultural practices.
