Statistics

Data of various kinds are of great importance as a basis for opinions, decisions and actions. The courses in Statistics deal with the role of Statistics as a science for the collection, measurement, presentation and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data. In this respect, the courses deal with principles and problems in the collection of data and different methods of data reduction and data presentation.

Statistics includes a variety of methods for data analysis and predictions, such as the construction of models for the relationship between economic or biomedical variables. The necessity of critical review is emphasised and computer aids, mainly in the form of statistical packages, are used throughout the courses.

Statistics can be studied at the undergraduate, graduate and PhD levels.
