Learning outcomes

On completion of the course, the student should

  • be able to search, collect, evaluate and interpret relevant information in a problem critically and to discuss phenomena, issues and situations critically
  • be able to identify independently, formulate and solve problems and to carry out assignments within given periods

  • be able to show such skills that are required to work independently in the area of the education
  • have made contact with research or development work.

Content

Within the course, the student carries out an independent project in computer science. In this project, the skills and abilities that should be achieved according to the aims for a Bachelor's degree are used and trained. Within the project, the student applies the acquired knowledge and experience in computer science on a specific problem. The project is normally of research or development nature. 1 credit of the 15 credits of the course consists of teacher-supervised learning with compulsory attendance, regarding

  • searching information: library science, scientific sources, source evaluation
  • to write and publish: Technical, editorial and linguistic aspects; how one designs figures and tables, the editorial process; scientific versus popular science style
  • to write in English and in Swedish
  • to make a poster: technical and educational aspects
  • gender perspective on scientific work

Instruction

The teaching is formed individually dependent on the specialisation of the project. Supervision is given individually or in groups, but also other tuition forms can occur. 1 of the 15 credits of the course consists of compulsory teacher-supervised teaching, generally in lecture section (see Contents). The course is completed with a presentation seminar.
