Entry requirements
120 credits of which 90 credits in Technical or Natural Sciences including Meteorology, Hydrology, Environmental Measurement Techniques 15 credits and Soil Science 15 credits.
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to give practical knowledge of estimations of runoff from natural catchments as from catchments under human impact.
Content
Theories of runoff formation. Methods for calculating runoff from natural catchments and paved surfaces. Dynamic-wave calculations. Statistical methods. Runoff modelling. Dimensioning the flows. Urban hydrology. Transport of pollutants in surface waters. Impact of human activities on runoff.
Instruction
Lectures, lessons and computer exercises.
Assessment
Written examination with problems and theory questions at the end of the course.
