Entry requirements
Bachelor ' s degree and 1MB700 Bioinformatics starting course.
Learning outcomes
On completion of the course, the student should be able to:
- Plan and delimit (both with regard to extent and time) how to tackle a certain problem within a research or development project
- Independently search, evaluate and compile relevant information required within the project
- Examine, interpret and evaluate results generated while implementing the project work
- Handle text and present data (as tables and figures where relevant) and references according to specific instructions
- In a written report as well as in an oral presentation, in adequate English correctly summarise and draw conclusions from the implemented project
- Reflect on the learning process and the potential need for additional personal acquisition of knowledge
Content
The course is an individually chosen project work within a technical sub-field of research or development, where knowledge from previous studies within Bioinformatics is applied and deepened. The contents of the project work are decided in consultation with supervisor and examiner. The work is carried out under supervision, in close connection with ongoing research or development at a university department, company or a public authority.
Instruction
Individual supervision at the work-place and by the co-ordinator at the department responsible for the course.
Assessment
The project work is to be presented orally and in writing according to specific instructions.
