Content
The course gives an increased knowledge of minerals, rocks and Quaternary deposits. A two week field course concerns the geological mapping of rocks and Quaternary deposits. Laboratory practical classes include analysis of Quaternary deposits and an introduction to the microscopy of rock types. Training is given in both the understanding and the critical presentation of geological descriptions. The course includes subject specific training in presentation and scientific communication, with feedback and critical evaluation.
