Entry requirements
Bachelor of Science 180 credits including 90 credits in Chemistry.
Learning outcomes
On completion of the course, the student shuld be able to
- account for and to discuss the important methods and computational models necessary for advanced level studies in theoretical chemistry
- account for and to discuss the important research areas in theoretical chemistry and other areas where theoretical chemistry is important
- plan independently own projects and to evaluate them with established methods
- document laboratory work and to present the results in both written and oral reports
- search, to organise and to present information related to theoretical chemistry taken from available databases and joournals.
Content
Overview of the field of theoretical chemistry and current research trends, and selected computational and theoretical methods
Instruction
Lectures, problem solving, seminars, and laboratory classes. Literature project.
Assessment
Hand-in problems, 3 credits. Written and/or oral examination 2 credits.
