Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, the student should
- be able to individually formulate a well-defined scientific problem and to discuss this problem by writing a short essay, equivalent to 5 weeks of work
- know and use basic scientific methodology
- be able to use suitable research methods
Content
The aim of the course is to train the student in basic research work, proper use of sources and scientific writing. This is a limited independent research exercise with a duration of approximately four to five weeks. The basic task is to solve a well-defined delimited research problem within a wider economic historic context. The work ends up with an essay of approx. 20 pages of typed text.
Instruction
Professional guidance is continuously given and the work is closely followed by the supervisor.
