Entry requirements
Two year within the Bachelor of Science programme in Physics or Bachelor programme in Earth science.
Learning outcomes
After the course the student should be able to
- choose measurement site (in- and outdoor) and measurement method
- apply measurement principles used within environmental measurement techniques
- describe the measurements representativity in time and space
- use data collecting systems
- evaluate collected data
Content
The course proceeds from the task to make an environment related investigation. Different problems with such an investigation are treated in the course relating to choice of measurement site and measurement sensors.
Important parts are: Representativity in time and space of the measurements, treatment of measured data as regards correlation with distance, data acquisition systems, and data processing.
Instruction
Seminars, laboratory exercises, and a project investigation.
Assessment
To pass requires an approved project investigation (3 credits) and approved laboratory exercises (2 credits). To achieve a higher grade an optional written examination is given at the end of the course.
