Entry requirements
A Bachelor's degree of 180 Swedish credits points in engineering, natural or social science or equivalent knowledge. Mathematics C and English B.
Learning outcomes
After approved course the student should be able to:
- give an account of energy sources and their sustainability
- give an account of aspects that influence wind energy development
- describe the process of wind energy utilisation
- perform an oral and written presentation of an individual or group assignment
Content
This course provides a general introduction to wind energy terminology, history and development. Topics include turbine function, wind energy planning, environmental considerations, site planning and financial considerations. A site study visit to an operating wind farm is included.
Instruction
The course includes lectures, seminars, group and field work. Student attendance is compulsory at most scheduled events.
Assessment
Written hand-in assignments and oral presentations.
