The course is given as an independent course and as module within 5HE205 Hebrew B1, classical specialisation. The course can be counted to the minor field Hebrew in a Bachelor's degree. < ! -- Parts and parts-- >

Entry requirements

Basic Course in Hebrew, 7.5 credits, or an equivalent course in the Faculty of Theology

Learning outcomes

Upon completing the course, the student should be able to:

- account for the difference between classical/modern Hebrew and rabbinic Hebrew concerning morphology and syntax;

- account for the literary and linguistic distinctive character of the included texts and their historical background at a general level, and

- without aid translate and philologically analyse prepared texts.

Content

The course aim is to give the student extended ability to read, understand and linguistically analyse post-biblical Hebrew text.

Instruction

Instruction consists of lectures, workshops and assessment.

The student's own learning activities are crucial for completion of the course.

Assessment

The students show the results of his/her learning through a combination of oral and written parts that take place at scheduled time and location (within the framework of regular teaching), and at the end of the course.
