Entry requirements
A Bachelor's degree of 180 credits with at least 90 credits in statistics.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course the student is expected to
• be able to use and program in the programming language R
• be able to use R to solve statistical problems
• be able to implement and describe Monte Carlo the technology
• be able to minimise and maximize functions using R
Content
Concept, basic definitions within programming, arrays and matrices and "data were frames", the use and definitions of procedures, functions, package, vektorisering, loops and control structures (if, while, left), read and save data, non-linear optimisation, convergence properties and generation of random numbers Monte-Carlo technology, linear systems and eigenvalues, visualisation of data.
Instruction
Teaching is given in the form of lectures or as seminars.
Assessment
The examination takes place partly through a written examination at the end of the course and/or through presentation orally and in written form of compulsory assignments.
