Learning outcomes
After approved course the student should be able to:
- give a general description of the basis for calculation methods
- explain and evaluate the application of measurement data and calculation results in wind power projects
- carry out a financial calculation based on wind resource at a site
- write a project report in a correct scientific way
Content
The course provides a specialisation in various computation and measurement methods used in the wind power project. The course aims to give an overall picture of the wind resource estimation and its reliability for economic analysis of wind power projects. Wind and energy calculations are performed with programmes such as WindPro and WindSim.
Instruction
Lectures, seminars, group and field work. Student attendance is mandatory at all scheduled activities.
Assessment
Written hand-in assignments and oral presentations 3 credits.
Oral exam 2 credits.
