Entry requirements
80 credits in biology equivalent to the basic course in biology within the Bachelor Programme in Biology/Molecular Biology.
Learning outcomes
The general aims of the course are to give the students knowledge of the physiology and anatomy of their own body. On completion of the course, the student should be able to:
- Describe how the major body systems or organs function
- Describe how different parts of the body work together
- Describe what would happen if some parts of the body systems do not work properly
Content
- Structure and function of a number of body/organ systems: The nervous system, circulatory organs, endocrine organs, reproductive organs, digestive tract, respiratory organs, immune system, skeleton and muscles, kidney and urinary system. Venereal diseases. First aid.
Instruction
The teaching is given in the form of lectures and seminars.
Assessment
Modules: Theory 7 credits; Written exercises 3 credits
The theory part is examined through a written examination. Written exercise module requires completed assignments
according to instructions.
