  • in a correct and understandable manner present and discuss, in writing and at a seminar, the results from the project work

Content

The course consists of an independent in depth project and is carried out individually under supervision support. Theoretical and methodological knowledge from completed courses of the Master programme in Infection Biology should be applied, broadened and deepened from a scientific perspective. The work implies literature search, project planning/performance, critical analyses of own results and scientific literature of relevance and also oral and written presentation. Students performing projects at academic departments/equivalent are expected to participate it the regular seminar activities of the research group.

Following tasks are included in the project work

  • written project plan including a time schedule

  • written report on obtained results
  • oral presentations, including defence and discussions of the work
  • popular science presentation at a poster session
  • written critical analysis of another student's written report

All the above tasks must be successfully completed and approved for the student to pass the course. This includes that the

  • examiner has approved the above listed written assignments, and that these ase presented in accordance with the instructions
  • supervisor has assessed the practical work and that this has been carried out in accordance with the project plan and within the time for the project

For registration of completed course you should publish and archive, or alternatively only archive, your thesis in the digital scientific archive (DiVA) according to specific instructions.

If there are special reasons for doing so, an examiner may make an exception from the method of assessment indicated and allow a student to be assessed by another method. An example of special reasons might be a certificate regarding special pedagogical support from the University's disability coordinator.
