Content
The course (8 wk, full time) offers an overview of human physiology.
It focuses mainly on integrated systems within the body and core physiological processes, but also introduces basic concepts in cell biology.
The following areas and topics are covered within this course:
- the central and peripheral nervous system
- the circulatory system
- endocrinology
- renal physiology
- acid-base, electrolyte and fluid balance
- respiratory physiology
- gastrointestinal physiology
Hands on laboratory work: EKG, blood pressure, spirometry, acid-base analysis and exercise physiology Computerised laboratory work: neurophysiology (I och II), the circulatory system, respiratory physiology, renal function and acid-base regulation.
