Registered in the Master Programme in Biomedicine at Uppsala University.

Learning outcomes

The undergraduate thesis project should provide the student with knowledge of how to seek scientific facts and how to plan, carry out and present scientific work.

Upon completion of the course the student is expected to:

- be able to search scientific literature

- be able to summarise scientific literature

- show basic knowledge of planning and executing scientific experiments

- show basic knowledge of how to analyse scientific data

- be able to discuss scientific data

- be able to present scientific data and conclusions

Content

The student will perform an experimental research project under individual supervision. Course literature will be chosen together with the supervisor. The project will be presented as a written report.

Instruction

The studies are performed under individual supervision and include literature studies and practical experimental work.

Assessment

The project should be presented as a written scientific report, which will be the basis for the examination.

If there are special reasons for doing so, an examiner may make an exception from the method of assessment indicated and allow a student to be assessed by another method. An example of special reasons might be a certificate regarding special pedagogical support from the University's disability coordinator.
