Entry requirements
Eligible to register are students who have passed courses from term 1, 2 and 3 (in total 90 credits).
Learning outcomes
On completion of the course, the student will be able to:
- explain pathophysiology, diagnostics and treatment of dementia
- explain principles of nursing patients with dementia
- independently plan nursing and follow-up of nursing
- explain support strategies for the family of the patient
- demonstrate ability to identify and reflect on ethical issues in nursing

Assessment
The aims of the course are examined continuously during the course in the form of oral and written assignments - examinations occur individually and in groups. When there is examination in groups the student shall participate actively with knowledge and reflection.
Other directives
A student who has failed examination is entitled to retake the examination four times (= a total of five examinations). After five failed examinations, the student may lose his/her guaranteed place in the education. The Committee for Undergraduate Education can, if special circumstances apply, admit additional examination. Participation in an examination is counted as one examination. Submission of so called "blank" exam is counted as examination. According to chapter 6, sections 21-22 of the Higher Education Ordinance (1993:100), the student have the right to change examiner on request after two failed examinations.
