Entry requirements
Bachelor's degree including alt 1) 60 credits biology and 30 credits chemistry or 30 credits earth sciences; alt 2) 90 credits biology.
Learning outcomes
On completion of the course, the student should be able to:
- account for current research trends within specialisation of the Master's programme
- participate actively in, lead and initiate discussions about recent papers
- analyse and review papers critically
Content
The course constitutes a 'journal club', where students within a specialisation of the Master's programme discuss recent papers.
Training to initiate and to lead scientific seminars.
Instruction
The teaching consists of seminars.
Assessment
To pass, it is required that the student has participated actively in the seminars. Each participant furthermore should choose papers for discussion and act as seminar leader by initiating and leading the discussion.
If there are special reasons for doing so, an examiner may make an exception from the method of assessment indicated and allow a student to be assessed by another method. An example of special reasons might be a certificate regarding special pedagogical support from the disability coordinator of the university.
