60 credits in science and engineering including a basic course in Electric circuit theory.
Learning outcomes
To give an introduction to electric power engineering.
Content
The electric power system, three phase currents, symmetric components, AC transmission. Equivalent circuits for transformers, rotating machines (motors and generators) cables and transmission lines. Power devices: Transformers, rotating machines, switchgear, transmission lines and cables and ancillary equipment. Ethical aspects of generation and use of electricity. Visit at a substation and at a transformer production site.

Assessment
Written examination.
If there are special reasons for doing so, an examiner may make an exception from the method of assessment indicated and allow a student to be assessed by another method. An example of special reasons might be a certificate regarding special pedagogical support from the disability coordinator of the university.
