Learning outcomes
On completion of the course, the student should be able to:
- explain and account for central and important ideas and concepts used in Quality Management, such as customer, dimensions of quality and process,
- apply the process approach in order to understand organisations,
- apply the most common Quality Management methods and tools in different organisations,
- explain and account for leadership in quality work,
- explain and account for quality management systems and quality business models,
- explain and account for the main quality programmes,
- explain and relate to each other the different concepts of quality management, leadership, quality and improvement.
Content
Quality definitions and dimensions of quality, customer, processes and process approach. Quality models and quality management. Different quality philosophies. Different quality methods and tools in quality development. How leadership, quality and improvements relates to each other.

Lectures and exercises.
Assessment
Written assignments.
If there are special reasons for doing so, an examiner may make an exception from the method of assessment indicated and allow a student to be assessed by another method. An example of special reasons might be a certificate regarding special pedagogical support from the disability coordinator of the university.
