Entry requirements
120 credits in Science and Technology. Proficiency in English equivalent to the Swedish upper secondary course English 6.
Learning outcomes
After a successfull completion of the course, the student should be able to
- explain why business models matter, and how tooling can help you innovate your business model,
- account for basics of business and business model,
- describe the various components and phases of the business development process,
- judge equity and debt financing for new business development,
- describe the different funding sources and their advantages and disadvantages and available financing options in various phases of an entrepreneurial business development,·
- perform elevator pitch and business presentations.
Content
Business models and their fundamental components, including Analysis of current buisness models used in different industries. Synthesis of new models and their role as driving force for innovation in additive manufacturing. Computer simulation covering start up and running of an international company. Explore business opportunities and existing companies working with additive manufacturing. Ajust a strategic plan according to market data and competitive signals.
Instruction
Seminars, workshops and lectures.
Assessment
Oral presentations and mini assignments (1,5 credits). Written home assignments (1,5 credits). Presentation project work (2 credits).
If there are special reasons for doing so, an examiner may make an exception from the method of assessment indicated and allow a student to be assessed by another method. An example of special reasons might be a certificate regarding special pedagogical support from the disability coordinator of the university.
