Learning outcomes
On completion of the course the student shall be able to:
- describe common components and connections in analog and digital electronics,
- build models of simple analog and digital circuits,
- explain simple network problems, chose and apply solution methods which give clear calculations,
- simulate analog and digital circuits with the help of a computer,
- describe the design of simple circuit cards.
Content
Ohm's and Kirchhoff's laws. Components. Analysis methods. Inkopplingsförlopp. Digital signals in simple eletrical networks. Complex methods. Two-poles. Filters. Inductive coupling. Diodes, field-effect and bipolar transistors. Transistor amplifiers. Operational amplifiers. DA- and AD-converters. Boolean algebra. Logic gates. Circuits categories. Combinatorial circuits. Karnaugh-diagrams. Flip-flops as building memory block in sequential logic circuits. Counters. Finite state machines. Introduction to printed circuit board design methods.Computational and simulation project.

Assessment
Written exam (4 hp) and project (1 hp).
