Entry requirements

120 credits including 90 credits in computer science, mathematics, and technology, including Computer Networks I and a second course in computer programming. Participation in the course Wireless Communication and Networked Embedded Systems. Proficiency in English equivalent to the Swedish upper secondary course English 6.

Learning outcomes

On completion of the course, the student should be able to:

• design and implement software and system solutions for wireless embedded systems based on relevant research literature,
• plan a project that can be carried out within a given framework,
• carry out a project work together with other students and, during the process, reflect on and develop the group's collaboration,
• present and discuss the chosen solution method and project results orally and in writing.

Content

Project work in groups covering the following areas: embedded systems, sensor nodes, distributed algorithms, radio communication (propagation and modulation), energy efficiency, communication protocols for wireless systems.

Instruction

 Project work in groups under supervision.

Assessment

Written and oral reporting on the project.

If there are special reasons for doing so, an examiner may make an exception from the method of assessment indicated and allow a student to be assessed by another method. An example of special reasons might be a certificate regarding special pedagogical support from the disability coordinator of the university.

Other directives

Wireless communication and embedded systems, 10 credits, (1DT103) cannot be counted towards graduation together with this course.
