On completion of the course the student shall be able to
- give an account of the importance of systems thinking as well as identify and explain application of system thinking within the industry,
- explain and independently analyse complex phenomena using system thinking,
- construct, simulate and analyse basic system dynamic models,
- reproduce research experiments from relevant scientific papers using a software tools.
Content
Systems thinking and System dynamics simulation. Analysis and modelling of complex dynamical systems within different industrial domains and organisational levels.
Instruction
Lectures, computerized laboratory work and supervision of project work.
Assessment
Written presentation of assignments (3 credits) and oral and written presentation of project work (2 credits).
If there are special reasons for doing so, an examiner may make an exception from the method of assessment indicated and allow a student to be assessed by another method.
