Entry requirements
A Bachelor's degree, equivalent to a Swedish Kandidatexamen. In addition, 30 credits at Master's level in the main field of all-electric propulsion systems including Thematic Studies in All-Electric Propulsion Systems. Participation in 15 credits of applied courses at Master's level. The applied courses in the programme are Electric Cars, Electric Operation of Heavy Vehicles: Trucks, Buses and Work Machines, Electric Operation of Aircraft, Drones and Helicopters, Rail-Bound Electric Traffic: Trains and Trams, Electric Operation for Ships and Boats. Proficiency in English equivalent to the Swedish upper secondary course English 6.
Learning outcomes
On completion of the course the student shall be able to:
- collect, evaluate and interpret relevant information within a presentation of a problem in electric propulsion systems and critically discuss occurances and questions at issue,
- independently identify, formulate and solve problems, including with limited information, plan and with adequate methods perform qualified tasks within given time limits,
- orally and in writing describe and discuss problems, solutions and conclusions with different target groups,
- work independently with qualified assigments within the area of electric propulsion systems,
- show scientific approach,
- give constructive critique on texts of other students.
Content
In the exam work the student should apply knowledge derived throughout the study period by independently managing and reviewing an assignment within given time. The task should be choosen so as knowledge and experience from earlier studies can be applied, and being broaden and deepend. The task should be suited so as it can be solved and reviewed within given frame of time.
In order to reach the goals the student should, during the course:
- independently but under supervision define a technical problem, research, interpret and evaluate the results and present the work orally and in writing,
- look for, evaluate, and gather information relevant for the choosen problem,
- activelly participate, or if possible, participate in other activities that occur at the workplace where the assigment is performed.
Instruction
Individual supervision.
Assessment
Oral and written presentation of own exam work (see Other directives). Oral and written opposition of another exam work (normally withing the same program), alternatively a corresponding task defined by the examinator.
If there are special reasons for doing so, the examiner may make exceptions from the specified examination method of assessment and allow a student to be assessed by another method. An example of special reasons might be a certificate regarding special pedagogical support from the disability coordinator of the university.
