Entry requirements
120 credits in science/engineering. Introduction to Electromobility. Proficiency in English equivalent to the Swedish upper secondary course English 6.
Learning outcomes
On completion of the course, the student should be able to:
- present the outline of electrical systems for electromobility, including the powertrain of an electric vehicle, charging of the battery, and charging infrastructure,
- justify what the possible future development of electromobility could look like with respect to sustainability aspects concerning the environment, the economy, and society,
- assess the advantages and disadvantages of systems for electromobility, and suggest possible solutions for weaknesses identified in the system.
Content
Electrical systems for electric vehicles. The function of battery systems, powertrain, electric motor, power electronics and available charging infrastructure. Electromobility and the future development of electrical systems. Safety and sustainability aspects.
Instruction
Lectures and seminars.
Assessment
Oral and written presentation of project (3 credits), active participation in seminars (2 credits).
If there are special reasons for doing so, an examiner may make an exception from the method of assessment indicated and allow a student to be assessed by another method.
