Entry requirements
45 credits within Engineering programmes. Participation in Engineering Materials and Industrial Manufacturing, of which 5 credits must be completed.
Learning outcomes
After passing the course, students should be able to
- read and interpret drawings according to ISO standards
- create simple detail and assembly drawings according to ISO standards
- apply rules and methods for dimensioning
- create 3D solids and assemblies with a methodology that gives stable and easily edited models.
Content
3D CAD basics, Swedish standard for drawings, modelling, assemblies and drawings with SolidWorks. Mechanisms, analysing, references, features, relations, modelling technique. Drawing-related fundamental concepts such as lines, scales, views, sections, dimensioning, tolerances and surface finish. Assembly drawing and detail drawing.
Instruction
Lectures, exercises, teaching sessions, computer exercises and practical assignments.
Assessment
Assignments.
If there are special reasons for doing so, an examiner may make an exception from the method of assessment indicated and allow a student to be assessed by another method. An example of special reasons might be a certificate regarding targeted pedagogical support from the university's disability coordinator.
