Learning outcomes
On completion of the course, students should be able to:
- in group plan, lead and implement a complex industrial development project based on goals, method and schedule in collaboration with a technology-intensive organisation,
- identify and apply relevant in-depth knowledge in industrial management and other related technical areas to implement the project,
- develop and report solutions that consider business, engineering, ethical and sustainability aspects of the challenge the project addresses,
- critically review and discuss others' proposed solutions and reflect on your own role in your group's work,
- critically review, discuss and reflect on current questions about practice and research in industrial management.
Content
The course functions as a capstone course where advanced knowledge is integrated and deepened to solve an engineering problem. Within the course, an advanced industrial development project is thus carried out that brings together various sub-areas of the education. The project highlights current challenges with industrial innovation, industrial management and technology shifts and is carried out in collaboration with companies, organisations or in some cases research groups. Business development and strategic management of technology shifts both within research in industrial management and, among other things, strategic thinking in technology-intensive businesses.
Instruction
Lectures, seminars, supervision of project work and study visits. The project work is supported by tutorials and seminars and ends with presentations of project work.
Assessment
Active participation in seminars and study visits and also written assignments (3 credits). Oral and written presentations of project work and also oral and written opposition on other students' project work (7 credits) .
If there are special reasons for doing so, an examiner may make an exception from the method of assessment indicated and allow a student to be assessed by another method. An example of special reasons might be a certificate regarding targeted pedagogical support from the disability coordinator of the university.
