Tort law challenges in the case of environmental damage - the example of PFAS pollution

PFAS damages litigation raises questions in the entire problem complex of tort law. For example, requirements for causation come to the fore, as it is difficult to show that a certain PFAS source has led to the damage. There are often many different actors in PFAS cases and therefore complicated to show a chain of events going back a long way. Claimants may struggle to demonstrate that an environmental scandal has lead to health problems. This project will map what is unclear in the area and find new ways to solutions going forward. This project is funded by the Ragnar Söderberg Research Foundation.
