Value co-creation between actors in a science megaproject

The purpose of the project is to reach a more profound understanding of the process of value co-creation among business and non-business actors involved in the ESS megaproject and their respective roles as contributors to and receivers of the project outcomes. ESS is the European Spallation Source, which is currently being built in Lund, Sweden. Data was collected through interviews, documents, newspaper articles and participation in big science conferences, workshops and meetings. We examine the roles of different actors, such as business firms, national and local political actors, and various scientific parties in terms of not only economic value, but also of psychological, sociological and environmental ditto.
