Dolores Calvo

Dolores Calvo, FD. Dolores är forskare och lärare vid statsvetenskapliga institutionen. Hon arbetar med ett projekt om implementering av policy mot sextortion i Tanzania, med fokus på frågor om maktmissbruk, sexuella övergrepp, genus och könsnormer, tvång och samtycke. Hon är doktor i sociologi och jobbar även som konsult med olika projekt relaterade till genus, könsrelaterat våld och utvecklingsfrågor.

Dolores holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of Gothenburg (2013). Her PhD thesis on gender and gender mainstreaming at EU level analyses discourses and representations of gender, policy developments of gender equality legislation, and the mainstreaming of gender in different policy areas with particular focus on migration, asylum and development cooperation policies. Dolores is working on a project on implementation of policies against sextortion in Tanzania, including questions of abuse of power, sexual abuse, gender norms, coercion and consent. She works as a researcher and consultant, collaborating with NGOs and government agencies in the following fields: gender, women’s reproductive rights, gender-based violence, sexual corruption, development and grassroots movements.
