I investigate how high-Z atoms can enhance the effectiveness of radiation therapy for cancer treatment. Using synchrotron radiation, I study the fragmentation of biomolecules containing these atoms to understand the precise mechanisms of DNA damage. My aim is to optimize localized radiation dose delivery, maximizing damage to tumor cells while minimizing harm to healthy tissue. This work is in collaboration with the PRISMAS project and Max IV Laboratory.
