Please help us to keep our gardens clean and tidy.

Plant collections

  • Do not walk in the flower beds or damage the plants.
  • Do not pick flowers, leaves, nuts, seeds or twigs.
  • The vegetables we grow are for everone to see - do not harvest them.
  • You are welcome to taste windfall fruit from the ground, but do not pick fruit that is still on the tree. Never taste a fruit unless you are certain what it is.
  • Do not move or damage the labels.
  • You are welcome to sunbathe, have a picnic, run or walk on the lawns. They are there to be used.

Historical buildings

  • Please do not touch objects, furniture, or wallpaper in the historic buildings.

Bags

  • Bags are not allowed to be brought into the Linnaeus Museum or the manour at Linnaeus' Hammarby.
  • Bags larger than a standard shopping cloth bag are not allowed to brought into the Tropical Greenhouse.

Storage

  • There are lockers for your use in the service centre in the Linnaeus Garden.
  • In the entrance to the Tropical Greenhouse, there are coat-hangers as well as lockers for smaller bags.

Dogs

  • Keep dogs on a lead at all times.
  • Please do not let your dog relieve itself in our gardens.
  • Only service dogs are allowed into glasshouses and other buildings.

Vehicles

  • Motor vehicles are not permitted in our gardens.
  • Bicycles are only allowed on the main paths. Please be considerate of pedestrians!
  • Only park your bicycles in the park racks.

Strollers and changing table

  • Srollers are not allowed inside the historical buildings at Linnaeus' Hammarby.
  • The tresholds in the Linnaeus Museum are high, please leave trollers outside.
  • At weekends it is often crowded in the Tropical Greenhouse. In order not to damage the plants, we are grateful if you please could leave your stroller outside.
  • Changing tables are available in the accessible toilets in the Linnaeus Garden, at Linnaeus' Hammarby, and next to the entrance to the Tropical Greenhouse.

Food and drinks

  • Food and drinks are not allowed inside the Linnaeus Museum or the historical buildings at Linnaeus' Hammarby.
  • You are welcome to have a picnic at the lawns in the Botanical Gardens. Please bring litter and leftovers with you when you leave, since there are limited possibilities of waste sorting in the gardens.
  • At Linnaeus' Hammarby there are tables for your food and drinks brought along just outside the entrance.

Spirits

  • Drinking alcohol is not allowed in the buildings of Uppsala University.
  • The Uppsala Municipality does not allow drinking in the parks and gardens of the city.
  • Our restaurateurs have dispensing pemits. Spirits served by them are allowed at dedicated areas.

Smoking and fire

  • Smoking is prohibited within 15 metres from buildings.
  • Due to risk of fire, smoking at Linnaeus' Hammarby is prohibited.
  • Barbeques are not allowed in our gardens.

Lost and found

  • Contact our booking service.
  • If items were left behind in conjunction with to a dinner or party in Linneanum at the Botanical Gardens or in the Orangery of the Linnaeus Garden, please contact Cajsas kök and Hambergs catering, respectively.

Security

Ponds

  • Both in the Botanical Garden and the Linnaeus Garden there are several ponds, some with deep water. Keep children under supervision and do not let them play close to water.

Trees

  • There are several trees in our gardens that tempt climbing. The trees are, however, part of our plant collections and might be vulnerable. Please do not climb our trees.

Poisonous plants

  • Most plants are more or less poisonous. Some might cause rash, others are poisonous to eat. Therefore, do not touch the plants and never taste any plant parts.
